If a squash was an apostrophe. If an apostrophe was a squash. Well, let’s not play these hypotheticals and get on task. These curved zucchini like summer squash are sure to draw some eyes and keyboards to your kitchen or booth. Best direct seeds (the larger the seed the easier to direct seed in our experience) so if you can forgo starting them in containers and transplanting - squash and melons have very sensitive roots, not you reader). Plant 2 seeds, 1” deep every 3 ft because these will sprawl if you don’t trellis them. Top dress and scratch in a bit of fertilizer (we prefer fish meal or bat guano) every couple of weeks. Fully mature in 75 days from planting.

  • Plant 2 seeds 1” deep in soft (peat moss&compost mix is the best) around where you are going to plant. Water in deeply and thin to strongest seedling. Plant at least 3 plants about 2ft away (up and down or sideways).

  • We trellis them on string running horizontally but can be spread just make sure too much water doesn’t hit the flowers.

  • Top dress with bat guano or fish emulsion each week for accelerated growth.
