Punche Tobacco Seeds

$4.00

Lunabear, what is that strawberry cotton orange pomegranate smell? Oh, that’s just vape clouds from the bathroom. Skip the vape and try growing these beautiful fast growing native to the southwest punche tobacco seeds. *The surgeon general has told us that tobacco consumption has negative health consequences so please do not start smoking (we would never tell you what to do, but we would ask). Not for just a mild smoke, the  punche tobacco comes with a fascinating New Mexico history—called an inferior poor-man’s tobacco compared to the “real” tobacco (it was prohibited so “real” tobacco could be imported) but don’t let that deter you from growing these fine fast growing can-be-used-as-ornamental-or-consumption short season plants that can grow up to 2.5ft tall and puts on numerous showy yellow flowers on a stalk!                                                                             - Seeds are extremely small so best started indoors before planting outside. Start a month before planting outside (when last frost has passed or try direct seeding outside—just be careful when watering the small seeds before established).                                                                                             -For these and small seeds we like to start them in a plastic salad container (one of those pre-washed lettuce ones at the store) - fill it will pure coco coir (or a soft soil). Sprinkle a few seeds every 1” and gentley cover it with soil.  Highly recommend to put on a heating mat ($20ish online) for better germination with all small seeds. No need to pretreat seeds – just keep soil moist by spraying with water bottle or flicking so seeds don’t get drowned out when watering. —Place under close lighting in warmest area of the house and seeds should germinate in 8-10 days. –When about 1” tall and at least 4 leaves have been set—carefully separate each plant (don’t damage roots) and replant into smaller container to grow at least 5” before planting outside. Plant in area with full sun and well drained soil. Apply high nitrogen fertilizers like bat guano/fish emulsion for maximum growth. Pinch of flowers to simulate more leaf structuring and chop off flowers before harvesting. Minimum 100 seeds.
