Milady, do you like my hat and pepper? /tips scotch bonnet. No, you’re not in Scotland, you’re about to experience this hottie Caribbean beautiful orange/yellow wrinkly about 1.5” long pepper and 2” wide pepper. A true blazer about twice the heat level of a habanero, but not quite the same height, but are actually cousins and closely related to each other according to bostonjerkfest.com—with a fruiter after-tone compared to the habanero, the Scotch Bonnet. Providing an abundance of fruits per plant, it sure does bring out color tones in your garden, when contrasted with your reds and greens. Be sure to wear gloves when chopping up into your favorite dishes. A favorite of mine (the puggle had a bad reaction to hot foods) is putting little slivers into corn bread, a throwing a generous amount of maple syrup to keep that bread a moist texture. Now that’s a watching the Food Channel at Planet Fitness tip. 

- Best started indoors, one month before last frost  (check almanac.com/gardening/frostdates)                                                                                             - Plant seeds 1/8” deep in pots, best started with heating mats for quicker germination but will be fine put in the warmest area of the house in pots at least 3” deep, mist in lightly in high quality potting soil—we like Fox Farm soils.    - Germinates in 12-15 days                                                                         - Place in area with most light to prevent getting leggy, supplement lighting maybe required- once at least 4” tall - transplant outside in area with full sun around 3ft apart with bat guano/compost/organic fertilizer and feed with fertilizer twice a week, make sure to let the area dry out first, so those roots get stronger searching for water—great in pots 3 gallons or larger. -Minimum 15 seeds.
