Honey Dew Melon Seeds

$4.00

One of our Space Cadet’s favorite summer melon to spoon out of on a brisk or palmy day with it’s beautiful light sweet green creamy flesh. This 3-5lb honey dew in capped inside a light yellow smooth rind. Absolutely tasty and a great seed saver.

Can be started in peat pots and transplanted about a month before last frost (don’t start to early to avoid lanky plants, and keep under strong lighting) https://www.almanac.com/gardening/frostdates -Plant seed 3/4” deep in well amended fertile soil in area with full sun when direct seeding outdoors after last frost. - When transplanting, very gently plant as roots are very sensitive in same area as direct seeding when there are at least 4 leafs and start to get root bound. Plant about 3ft apart, as the vines do spread out and you don’t want them to tangle. -Water in deeply and soften when young and water when top 2” of soil is dry when established so roots don’t get too saturated in water. - Scratch in organic fertilizers like bat guano/fish meal or hand water with liquid fertilizers like fish emulsion for maximum yield. -This infamous melon is pretty drought tolerant so really avoid over-watering! Can be trellised but we like to let them sprawl. Watch out for squash bugs as they grow, pinch the eggs (small yellow clusters). Ready to harvest in 110 days from direct seeding. Minimum 20 seeds.
