Hollyhock Seeds

Holly Molly, that’s an additionally large L, I just typed. Skip the big L’s in life with these large and tall hollyhock mix between red/pink/orange mix (most likely in the red hue, a true noob seed collector’s mix-up not keeping track!) Reaching up to 6+ feet tall and creating a column of colorful blooms that are attached right onto its tall stems from top to bottom, it makes for the perfect border to your garden or grow them in rows for a splendid mix to your cut-flower/pollinators garden.

We’ve had success starting them as transplants a month before last frost—plant 1/4” deep in soft seed starting mix—we like a mixture of coco coir and perlite—ensure full lighting to prevent leggy-ness, can  be planted outside once at least 6” tall.                                            - We also, had great success direct seeding right after last frost in area with at least 7+ hours of sunlight. They are pretty low maintenance once you get them going, but feed with organic nutrients like bat guano/fish emulsion when young to get them going.                                                                  - Transplant/seed about 2 feet apart to allow them maximum growth or further apart as they will burst with seeds at the end of the year, so you can shake them and just scratch up some soil and plant them then or definitely save the seeds!   A perennial in warmer climates, but an annual in most unless covered during the winter, apply mulch like straw and row cover to keep them going. Minimum 25+ seeds.
