Ha'Ogen Melon Seeds
Ha'Ogen Melon Seeds
Oh Hey. No, this isn’t some late night or afternoon “do you want to go to IHOP text”.
This is the Oh’Ogen Israeli melon (I see you Seth Rogen) . This Star of David is one of our pocket melon series (see red seeded citron and tigger melon). These 3-4lb pungent softball sized melons yields about 5-6 melon per plant almost enough for each of the 8 crazy nights (stores well in back of the fridge). With creamy white flesh and striped rind the turns to orange when fully ripe - YOU will be sending the do you want some melons late night text.
85-90 days from direct seed. Can be started in peat pots and transplanted but do so at least a week after last frost.
Plant 2 seeds 1” deep in soft (peat moss&compost mix is the best) around where you are going to plant. Water in deeply and thin to strongest seedling. Plant at least 3 plants about 2ft away (up and down or sideways).
We trellis them on string running horizontally but can be spread just make sure too much water doesn’t hit the flowers.
Top dress with bat guano or fish emulsion each week for accelerated growth.
