Aswad Eggplant Seeds

$4.00

There’s only a few things that fire up this “author”. After Kid Rock coming up on shuffle (bawitdaba) it has to be the Aswad Eggplant seed packets from Baker Creek.

When I first saw there alternative covers for their seed packets, some crazy photo editing, and overall fire packaging - that inspired us! So, whether we put the seeds in little vials, caprisun packages, light bulbs, cassettes paraphernalia baggies, envelopes - we would like to thank Baker Creek for firing up this seed company to work on packaging. We’ll try better the next time!

Aswad Eggplant - classic Iraqi Variety. A true fatty if you know what I mean, you wont see at the Kroger dispo. No, really what do we mean? This shiny dark purple oblong reaches up to 2+ lbs and have huge light green sepals that give the eggplant a funky knitted cap. Tender and perfect for slicing and grilling  and adding to fatty French bread sandwiches or cubing for that perfect addition to some fried rice.  Whoa, someone pass the Visine because it sure is a eye stopper at your garden, if you want to add some raz compared. Very heat tolerant.                                                                                                           -A squat high, medium yielding plant—making medium yield with fatty fruit, plant reaches 2.5-3 ft. tall - We recommend starting indoors about one month before last frost ( almanac.com/gardening/frostdates)                                                                                                   -Plant seeds (2) seeds 1/8” deep in pots with soft seed starting soil, best started with heating mats for quicker germination but will be fine put in the warmest area of the house                                                      – Germinates in 12-15 days—mist daily and watch these eggplants grow                                                                                           - Keep under strong lighting to prevent getting leggy and warmest area- once at least 4” tall, it’s ready to be transplanted outside, be very careful moving them as leaves are very fragile     - Transplant outside around in area with full sun, about 3ft apart with bat guano/compost/organic fertilizer in the hole you’re planting in. Scratch in nutrients every other week or apply liquid fish emulsion. It is worth investing high quality nutrients for the amount of yield you will be getting! Water in deeply and water when top 2” of soil becomes dry when plant is established. Ready in about  85 days from direct seed. Minimum 20 seeds.
